Simple math equals easy weight reduction.

The joy of eating a candy bar lasts only a number of minutes. It can take about an hour to burn off the calories it provides. So this is unquestionably not a simple strategy to drop extra pounds!

To lose one pound by exercising, it's essential burn about 3500 calories. Doing this could take days of moderate exercise. A greater strategy for weight reduction involves a two-pronged approach: exercising and cutting calories.

While exercise itself isn't the fastest strategy to drop extra pounds, it offers significant advantages beyond just canceling calories. This barely increases the speed at which you burn calories even if you're not exercising. And the kilos lost by increasing your activity level are almost entirely fat, not muscle.

Do the mathematics for this easy strategy to drop extra pounds.

Start with this number: 3,500. This is what number of calories are stored in a pound of body fat. With this number, you may calculate how much weight you may lose through increased activity, reduced calories, or each.

  1. Walking or jogging burns about 100 calories per mile. (Exactly what number of calories you'll burn is determined by many things, including your weight and how briskly you walk.) So you'll lose a couple of pound for each additional 35 miles you walk—provided you Do not change anything about Your current weight loss plan or other activities.
  2. If you walk briskly (at 4 mph) for half-hour five out of seven days, you'll log 10 miles per week. That means it is going to take three and a half weeks to lose a pound in case your calorie count stays the identical.
  3. If you alter your weight loss plan and cut 250 calories a day (half a cup of ice cream or two sugar-sweetened sodas), you'll lose a pound in two weeks.
  4. If you eat 250 fewer calories a day and walk half-hour a day, it is going to only take per week to lose a pound. Reducing calorie intake even further and exercising more will speed up the method.
